About the Photographer
Growing up in upstate New York gave me many opportunities for watching and photographing nature. Ever since I can remember I have always had a fascination with birds and wildlife, more so in the last few years. I am always looking for that picturesque moment.
My first camera was a Canon Powershot S3 that I purchased in 2007 - which I thought at the time was a pretty grand camera. Later that year, I upgraded to an SLR system; a Canon XT (350D) with a Canon 70-300 lens. I soon wanted more professional equipment, and so I then purchased a Canon 7D and a Canon 400 f/5.6 L prime lens. From then on I have been upgrading to the latest and greatest Canon cameras and lenses.
I use the 7D Mark II with a Canon 100-400 II lens pretty much exclusively as of June 2016. Although I am a bird photographer first, I also take photos of anything from mammals to insects, and scenics to landscapes. Just recently I have gotten back into landscapes, HDR photography, and Macro. In my spare time, I like biking, running, hiking, rock climbing, kayaking, and other outdoor activities.
Photography is my way to share my adventures and all the beautiful things in nature to the world around me. I hope you enjoy looking at my photos as much as I do creating them :)
